Milestones

We have a few milestones to report on...

Celeste was six weeks old last Sunday and we have definitely turned a corner in terms of getting into the swing of having a new baby in the house. She is doing well but hadn't put on weight for three weeks, most likely due to the feeding problems we were having. As a result she has now 'hit the bottle' and even though it is a lot earlier than we had hoped, everyone is a lot happier. She is on a hypoallergenic formula due to our family history of allergies. Heres hoping that we still manage to avoid the eczema nightmares we had with Stella.

The second milestone is me managing to get up, have a shower, eat a piece of toast and (with help from Mark of course) get Stella ready, put both girls into the car and drop Stella at creche at 9am this morning! Mark has been doing the drop off to her morning sessions meaning he isn't sitting at his desk until near 10am, not something that can carry on long term! Hopefully he got in earlier today.

Another milestone to report is that Stella DIDN'T CRY at any point on our way to creche or at drop off. She has been getting progressively better and only had a wee crisis of confidence when we got to the creche door and had to pause for a sit on the ground before I managed to coax her inside. Once inside instead of crying and clinging to me, she did her 'happy dance' and pranced off outside with one of the student teachers. It was so nice to leave without a heavy heart.

I then came home and fed and bathed Celeste so for the first time since she was born, she has had more than one bath in a week! (Don't worry, she does get a daily top 'n tail). I must admit to make things easier I am bathing her in the kitchen sink, something I never would have dreamed of doing with Stella but it is much kinder on my back and a lot less admin than filling up the baby bath.

Now it is time to tidy up in preparation for whirlwind Stella's return home. She has dropped the day sleep so we have to keep busy, we cleaned and refilled the sandpit last weekend so she is enjoying pottering about the courtyard, going in and out of her house and other important things. It has been great to have some warm, fine weather and makes playing at home much easier.

Our pics this week are of Celeste doing the all important 'tummy time', Stella squeezed into a little box with as many toys as possible and Aunty Katherine with her nieces.
